Fazlurrahman, conservationist and an officer bearer of the NGO, Katarniaghat Foundation, discovered a rare Indian snake species – the Red Coral Kukri. It was located using an infrared night-vision camera in the Terai area of Uttar Pradesh.

The snake is a deep orange colour and the reptile was first discovered in 1936. it was earlier spotted in Nepal and West Bengal. The latest discovery in the area has excited many environmentalists, wildlife experts, herpetologists, conservationists and forest authorities.
