It is Delhi’s coldest Christmas in 10 years! The minimum temperature on Sunday was 2.9 degrees Celsius. Being such a happy occasion, the cold forced people to celebrate Christmas indoors. So if you’re out this Christmas or New Year in Delhi, cover yourself up very well and stay warm. in spite of the freezing temperatures, Delhiites managed to attend church service, and some of them in the oldest churches in the city.

It’s likely that the New Year would be colder but that won’t deter Delhiites from ushering in the New Year at expensive parties or hotel bashes. Midnight parties with fancy themes will be the norm. Food, drinks and concerts or ghazals are the main attraction.
